Sinn Féin Chief Negotiator Martin McGuinness report on the current negotiations to the Ard Fheis, 2004
Martin McGuinness

In my political report to last year's Ard Fheis I set out in some detail what progress had been made in what was then an ongoing and protracted negotiation with both the British and Irish governments and the various political parties aimed at resolving the political impasse. One year on I want again today to set out where things are at on the negotiations front.  View more

Ard Fheis interview with Sinn Féin General Secretary Robbie Smyth

How has this year's Ard Fheis gone Robbie? It has been an incredible success. It has definitely been one of our biggest ever. I'm amazed at the amount of delegates here, there are so many that we've already started talking about the need for a much bigger venue next year. And the standard of the debates have been excellent.  View more

Aengus Ó Snodaígh discusses immigration bill

Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh speaking at the Ard Fheis said 'The Fianna Fáil-PD Government is anti-immigration and anti-refugee full stop. As virtually his first act as Minister, Michael McDowell ordered pre-dawn raids to round-up illegal immigrants ˆ except that as it turned out nearly half of those he rounded-up were totally legal, and their arrests were arbitrary.' Deputy Ó Snodaigh said: Sinn Féin has identified three areas of Justice policy in this state that are in urgent need of reform on a human rights basis.  View more

Ard Fheis interview with Dublin local election candidate Daithí Doolan
David Doolan David Doolan

What has been the highlight for you of this year's Ard Fheis? It was definitely when they brought all the relatives of collusion onto the stage during Gerry Adams Presidential Address. Knowing that that was going out live was mind-blowing -- it was being broadcast by the same media that has attempted to marginalise and demonise people who have campaigned for the truth about collusion through the years.  View more

Aengus Ó Snodaígh Aengus Ó Snodaígh

Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh addressing the party's Ard Fheis on prison reform said 'That this Ard Fheis opposes the Minister for Justice's prison restructuring plans as they are not evidence-based, do nothing to address the conditions urgently requiring change as outlined by the Prison Inspector, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture, and human rights groups including Amnesty International and the Irish Penal Reform Trust.'  View more

Kelly addresses Ard Fheis on policing
Gerry Kelly Gerry Kelly

Sinn Féin Policing spokesperson Gerry Kelly MLA speaking at the party's Ard Fheis said 'transfer of powers on policing is also crucial because it is the only way that control of policing and justice can ultimately be wrested out of the hands of British securocrats in London and the NIO who have run policing as a paramilitary force for generations.'  View more
